Kelly’s gerbil poem in Scots dialect

Read my Scots poem below and listen to me reading it here.

Teeny wee beasties,

Eating awa at their food,

A tak im oot,

N’d gae im a clap,

een runs awa.

A put the other een back,

Am greetin ti misel,

Mi Ma comes in i room

”Av foond im,” she says.

The gerbil gings back in ‘is cage,

Tiny wee beasties,

Safe and soond.

Great poem Kelly. I love the sound of some of these words, ‘gings’ is my favourite.
Reminds me of another wee beastie poem, can you guess which one?

Hi, Kelly here, I think the poem you are thinking of is about a mouse and it is by Robert Burns.

You are right Kelly, ‘To a Mouse’ is the one I was thinking about.
