Laura’s Scots Poem

In writing, we have been writing poems in Scots dialect which is our usual dialect outside school. Here is my one about shopping in town. Listen to me reading it here.

Lassies runnin to get a the bargins,

Wee bairns scurlin, “I’ve lost ma ma,”

Listenin to the pinginĀ o the tills,

Fowk whisperin, “I got this for twa pound,”

Ootside the shops there’s a sea a fowk,

I’m drappin a ma clithes as the fowk rush past,

Fit a day at the shops!

    Laura,
Great poem, it is nice to hear your voice. The east coast dialect sounds very different from the west.
