Broccoli by Lewis

broc.jpg

I dread dinner time when I have to eat it.

It crawls on to my plate with its evil face.

It sneers up at me with its bloodshot eyes.

It shouts at me to eat it.

It loves the fact that I’m going to be sick.

It pushes my chips and my chicken on the floor.

I feel like throwing it out of the window

You don’t like broccoli? It’s delicious. When my grand-daughter was a few months old her favourite food was cold cooked broccoli.

This is a good effort at Personifcation. You have painted a clear picture of the EVIL broccoli crawling onto your plate. The clipart is effective too!

    Hi Lewis,
you have used a lot of powerful words to describe your feelings and the actions of the evil broccoli. I especially like dread and the crawling.

On the other hand I like broccoli, maybe you are not cooking it the right way;-)

Your evil broccoli reminds us of the evil sprouts (in the Christmas game) on the Sandaig Otters site. Are all of the veges taking over Scotland? We are almost glad to be so far away from your feral vegetables!Do you think we are safe?

I like your poem. We are going to be writing poems in our primary 7 class soon and we’re looking for some ideas to help us. Using clipart to illustrate our poems sounds like a good idea. Thank you!

I really enjoyed your poem. You chose some very good words. Your clipart is very effective too.
